Four attempts at a chair
Hatching is only a way of deciding where light is absent. Studies, sheets, and failures.
The same kitchen chair, four times, over about a week. Not because the chair is interesting but because it is the only object in the flat that holds still and has a complicated relationship with the window.
The first is too careful. The second is too loose, in the way that people are loose when they have been told the first one was too careful. The third is the only one that is any good, and I do not know why. The fourth is an attempt to reproduce the third, which is exactly the wrong reason to draw anything.
